The Skate Asia 2023 Opening Ceremony took place yesterday at the DB Ice Rink with more than 500 spectators in attendance. We were honored to invite Mr. Benson Luk, member of the Committee on Home Affairs, Culture and Sports of the Legislative Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Mr. Edward Chow, Senior Manager of the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, Mr. Danny Wu, General Manager of China Ping An Insurance (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd, Mr. Harry Janto Leo, Chairman of ISIAsia, and Mr. Ivan Lee, Executive Vice President, Operations, Auberge Hospitality, attended the opening ceremony.

A parade of 46 ice rink representatives entered the rink, followed by the opening speech given by Mr. Ivan Lee and Mr. Harry Leo. Three spectacular performances, first led by Mr. Harry Lee, DB Ice Skating School Figure Skating Senior Coach and his students gave a performance themed Demon Slayers: Kimestu no Yaib, a popular Japanese animation. Among the stellar performances were those by Linda Dean Huggins, a former World Professional Figure Skating Championship competitor and Rachelle Kwong, a former Hong Kong National Figure Skating Team member and a two-time Hong Kong Championship champion. The most anticipated performance by Ms. Mariah Bell, 2022 U.S. National Champion and 2022 Winter Olympian, brought the opening ceremony to a whole a new level with her performance. After the ceremony, Mariah met with the skaters, signed autographs, and took photos together.
