HONG KONG (30 Nov 2021) – This holiday season, Discovery Bay Ice Rink (“DB Ice Rink”) partners with Japanese cartoon character Monchhichi to present the first Monchhichi-themed ice rink in Hong Kong, bringing our guests unparalleled skating experience.
Monchhichi-themed Ice Rink
Throughout December, Monchhichi decorations will be seen everywhere at DB Ice rink, and there will be various photo-worthy spots for guests to capture precious moments with Monchhichi. Echoing Auberge Discovery Bay’s Monchhichi-themed staycation package, hotel guests will receive a specially designed “Monchhichi Hunting Card” upon check-in, and then follow Monchhichi’s footsteps to explore Discovery Bay. Through the fantastic journey, guests will discover the festive joy at designated locations by collecting all the limited-edition stickers to fill up the card's spaces and enter into an online game to win prizes!
Christmas and New Year Festivities at DB Ice Rink
Tune in the holiday spirit with figure skating performances curated by our coaches on 18 and 19 December. Skating School students, led by coaches, will perform different songs and stories on ice. The coaches will also bring to the audience a figure skating show at 4:15 pm daily from 20 to 26 December, each show lasts for 10 to 15 mins. Visit us and indulge in their gorgeous moves on the ice!
And what can’t be missed in a joyous Christmas? Santa and Christmas Carols for sure! In the evening sessions on 24 and 25 December, we will invite local buskers to perform on the ice, bringing every guest a romantic night with their loved ones. Take photos with Santa Claus during the late-afternoon session on 25 December and he may give you a little Monchhichi gift as a delight of Christmas! Christmas Skating Camp will also be available from 25 to 27 December.
For ice hockey enthusiasts, you won’t want to miss the annual Hot Pot Draft Tournament – Christmas Edition organised by PowerPlay Sports & Entertainment from 27 to 30 December.

Skating Class and Tickets Now Available on Klook
Great news for all holiday planners! Guests will be able to book skating sessions at DB Ice Rink together with the Monchhichi-themed staycation package of Auberge Discovery Bay Hong Kong on our official ticketing platform Klook.
30-min skating classes and tickets for public skating sessions can also be booked through Klook. The 30-min Skating Class will be an excellent start for those new to skating to get a glimpse of skating fun. Our professional coaches will teach you basic skating skills in a fun and interactive approach. DB Ice Rink will also offer more public skating sessions on most days in December.
