(24 June 2022 – Hong Kong) Activities abound as summer rolls around and social distancing rules further relax. With the thrill and beauty of ice skating still vivid in our memories since the Winter Olympics 2022, DB Ice Rink will be transformed into an Ice Wonderland introducing “Super Summer Skating Fun Programme” with speed skating and figure skating introductory courses. Starting from June, DB Ice Rink, in partnership with the Hong Kong Speed Skating Academy, launched Hong Kong’s First International Standard Short-track Speed Skating Programme designed and taught by Olympians including Sidney Chu, the city’s Short-track Speed Skating representative in the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, and his team. Unleash your children’s potential as they speed through the ice rink built according to international racing standards!
Get a Taste of Olympic-Level Training through Hong Kong’s First International Standard Short-track Speed Skating Programme
The DB Ice Rink is the place to turn your passion to your profession! One of the largest in Hong Kong, the rink spans 27m in width and 59m in length and features a 111.12m long oval-shaped track built according to international standards. Corners are padded for utmost safety – making it not only the ideal training ground for our local skating team, but also an ice wonderland for all sorts of ice sports.
Short-track Speed Skating is the Formula 1 on ice: it’s the fastest sport on ice. DB Ice Rink has joined hands with the Hong Kong Speed Skating Academy to bring the sport to enthusiasts aged 3 and above! Skating is no longer a sport only for the elites. Classes will be held on Sundays from June to July and will be taught by the likes of Sidney Chu – the city’s Short-track Speed Skating representative in the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing; Hong Kong's first Winter Olympian Christy Ren; and esteemed Short-track Speed Skating athlete Jimmy Kwok. Starting with fundamentals, the programme hopes to promote the sport to Hong Kongers and to nurture a new generation of skaters.
